Protesters can be heard calling Mamdani an “anti-Semite” and refusing to back down as he follows.
When Mamdani's security intervenes, the guards form a protective barrier to usher him into the car, which then drives out of the square. One protester holding a flag can be seen pushing what appears to be another member of security near a vehicle.
Mamdani spoke at Foley Square to express solidarity with the New York Attorney General. Letitia Jameswho was indicted this week on mortgage fraud charges related to a Virginia property she owns.
Mamdani was repeatedly pressured to renounce Hezbollah and condemn slogans such as “Globalization of the Intifada.”

In June 2025, speaking on Meet the Press, Mamdani refused to do so entirely, saying it was not the responsibility of a government official to control language, although he reiterated his opposition to inciting violence and anti-Semitism.
Mamdani reflected on October 7, 2023: terrorist attacks in Israel on Tuesday, releasing a statement in memory of the Israeli victims and hostages still held by Hamas.
“Two years ago today, Hamas committed a terrible war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still being held and for every family whose lives were destroyed by these atrocities,” Mamdani said.
“The death toll is now well over 67,000; The Israeli military bombed houses, hospitals and schools into ruins.
“Every day in the Gaza Strip became a place where grief itself came out of the language. “I mourn these lives and pray for the families destroyed.”
Mamdani's statement was reposted by the publication Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IFM) on X, where he accused him of “acting as a mouthpiece for Hamas propaganda.”

“By repeating Hamas' lies, it justifies terror and normalizes anti-Semitism. He only supports Jews when they are dead. Shameful,” IFM said in a statement.
Mamdani's press office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
