Zellers plans to make a big splash with the opening of its first new store in Edmonton.
Popular Canadian Retail Icon is back with a phased opening of new, smaller stores across the country.
The first location will open on October 30, 2025 at Londonderry Mall in Edmonton.
According to the retail giant, the new Zellers will combine nostalgia with modern design, offering curated clothing, home and lifestyle products.

“Our vision for Zellers is to revive a piece of Canadian culture and redefine what a department store can be,” said Joey Benita, Zellers chief operating officer, in a press release.
“Canadians told us they want a more intimate, convenient shopping experience that still delivers the value, accessibility and family-oriented approach they remember.”
The stores will stock children's accessories from brands such as Reebok, Spyder and Disney, with more to come.
The beloved mascot “Zeddy” will also return in 2026 with “Zeddy's World”, a shopping experience for the whole family.
Zellers plans to gradually expand, opening new stores across Canada in the coming years and repurposing some vacant space in Hudson's Bay.
The company is also committed to supporting community initiatives, including children's cancer camps.
