If you've already dug a deep hole, you probably shouldn't keep digging.
But Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) didn't learn that lesson.
She appeared on MS NOW The Weekend with host Jacqueline Alemany. Alemany gave her a chance to clarify her outlandish claims about Jeffrey Epstein donations she made before Thanksgiving. She previously tried to link donations from “Jeffrey Epstein” to Republicans, but of course those were donations not from a convicted sex offender, but from other people with the same name.

Crockett claimed this was because Republicans wanted to kick Democratic Virgin Islands delegate Stacey Plaskett off her committees over a donation from Epstein. Of course, this was not the only problem; this was because Plaskett was corresponding with Epstein during congressional hearings long after his problems as a sexual predator had become widely known. But thank you for noting this donation, Jasmine, for MS NOW audience.

“I had maybe 20 minutes. We researched the Federal Election Commission, and because I like to be specific – which is what a lawyer does – I made it clear that Jeffrey Epstein existed,” Crockett said. “On the other hand, they knew I didn't have time to stop and do research, especially since the particular person Lee Zeldin was making a fuss about was outside of New York. We know he was outside of the area, and it obviously wasn't done after Jeffrey Epstein's life, so I made sure I said 'Jeffrey Epstein.'”
What is she talking about? It was a “post-life” donation to Jeffrey Epstein—one year after the sex offender’s death.
She then admitted what she was trying to do.
“But you were trying to imply that it was Jeffrey Epstein,” Alemany insisted.
“Oh, I absolutely implied that it was possible. It's true,” Crockett admitted. “But the thing is, I never said it was a specific name because I didn't have enough time to do that. And so Jeffrey Epstein came forward, and it doesn't seem like a common name. And I think it would be problematic if I claimed that, let's say, this happened, and in fact it never happened. He ended up clearing the record. I didn't do any further research. I didn't talk to that doctor.”
She concluded: “I can agree with what Lee Zeldin said that he did not receive money from That Jeffrey Epstein,” not that it has been conclusively proven that this is not the case. That Jeffrey Epstein.
Zeldin, now the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, simply rebuked her in response.

In her latest defense of unjustified genius, Jasmine Crockett, MD, now claims that the donation I received from Dr. Jeffrey Epstein was made BEFORE the other Jeffrey Epstein died. It's a LIE and she knows it, hoping the TV host won't resist. The FEC report she cited as her source shows the date of the donation I received AFTER the death of the other Jeffrey Epstein.
Also note that at the end she says, “I can agree that Lee Zeldin said he did not receive money from Jeffrey Epstein,” implying that her lie may still be true, although it obviously isn't, even though she previously admitted that I “cleared the record,” AND even though the record she cites herself as her source says the donation I received was from a doctor who donated to me AFTER of how the other Jeffrey Epstein was dead.
Well said. It was an attempt to distract from the Democrats' own Epstein problem. She should be condemned; this behavior is indecent. She admits that she didn't care about the facts, only what she could hint at. Zeldin didn't deserve to be dragged into this, and neither did the doctor.
As we previously reported, Dr. Jeffrey Epstein did repay her.

He gave her a small donation and now she also has a donation from “Jeffrey Epstein.”
