YouTube agreed to pay $ 24.5 million (18.6 million pounds) to settle the lawsuit filed by Donald Trump filed after the video platform suspended his score after the attack on January 6 on the capitals of the United States.

Settlement from the maternal company of the giant of the Alphabet stream video, which also belongs to Google, comes after the sites of social networks X/Twitter and Facebook, also agreed to pay Trump for the suspension of its accounts.

Trump accused YouTube and other technological companies of political bias, claiming that they unfairly censored conservative votes after the rebellion of the Capitol in 2021.

During its removal, the companies of social networks stated that Trump risks to incite further violence in Washington, the District of Colombia.

As part of the settlement on Monday, YouTube will pay $ 22 million. The United States for a trust for National Mall, a non -profit group that seeks to raise $ 200 million for the construction of a new ballroom in the White House.

Another 2.5 million dollars will be paid to other organizations and persons who have joined the Trump lawsuit, including the American Conservative Union.

YouTube is the last major platform that will agree with the president.

In January, the Facebook Meta maternal company agreed to settle $ 25 million – from $ 22 million. USA intended for the Trump presidential library.

A month later, the social network X – a company that was acquired by Trump's ally Elon Musk in 2022, agreed to $ 10 million.

All accounts of Trump on social networks have since been restored.

Settlements come to the fact that the silicone valley, as a rule, has acquired a more conciliatory tone in relation to the president. The general director of Alphabet, Meta and X still sat in the front row for its inauguration, signaling the shift of relations between the Republican Party and the technical sector.

Giants on social networks also took measures to weaken the moderation of content on their platforms, which, as the Republicans claimed, was a violation of freedom of speech.

Last week, Utube said that she plans to restore several accounts that were prohibited for repeatedly made false statements about Covid and the 2020 presidential elections.

“YouTube appreciates conservative voices on its platform and admits that these creators have a big coverage and play an important role in civilian discourse,” the company, controlled by the Republican Committee of Congress, explaining this decision.
