PlayStation 5 Pro for $649
Without a doubt PlayStation 5 Pro – the most powerful console on the market. This console has extra power that allows games to run better than the PlayStation 5, and for many games the difference is very noticeable. Using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), games such as Final Fantasy VII: RebirthResident Evil Village, Returnal and Alan Wake 2 all the differences are night and day compared to PS5.
Most games will see increased frame rates and resolution, but the PS5 Pro also supports advanced ray tracing. This can be seen in ray tracing games, with the Pro offering more support than was possible with the PS5. If you already have a PS5, the Pro might not be a very attractive purchase at $649. However, if you're entering the console space and choosing between the Xbox Series X or PS5 Pro, the price difference between the two is negligible today.
Although it is possible that PS5 Pro may go on sale in the spring, I wouldn't count on a better discount coming anytime soon. If you have even the slightest interest in purchasing one, today is the best time to do so. Besides this holiday sale, we only saw the $100 discount for a few days in June 2025.
