DEMOLITION OF ICONS
Re: Wayne Gretzky talks about anti-Canadian criticism: “Deep down I know I'm Canadian,” online, November 12.

Oh, how Canadians love to eat their own.
I mean the nonsense that Wayne Gretzky is somehow not Canadian because of his supposed proximity to Donald Trump, when nothing could be further from the truth.
Gretzky, with the possible exception of Don Cherry, was one of the greatest ambassadors of hockey as a Canadian staple, and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.
Yes, Gretzky resides in the United States, but he has always defended Canada, so please move on and destroy another Canadian like Sir John A. or Terry Fox, or maybe Banting and Best, who tested their experimental drug on animals. Damn, the list is endless.

Kudos to US Vice President J.D. Vance for placing the blame for Canadians' lower standard of living right where it rightfully belongs, i.e. mass immigration and weak leadership.
During the last election campaign, many quickly forgave a decade of Justin Trudeau and were easily duped by Mark Carney's “fear campaign” that blamed Donald Trump for the plight of the Canadian economy.
It was not President Trump who brought several million immigrants and tens of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers here. It then took billions of dollars to provide these newcomers with housing, medical care and other social services.

Re: Lorne Guenther: Nutrien's US port project shows MPO Carney is more about politics than results, online, November 22.

Prime Minister Mark Carney appears to be taking a page from George Costanza's theory that he should do the opposite of what he should do to boost Canada's GDP.
Seriously, Carney was considered an economic genius, but all he seems to do is try to get re-elected.
