They will sink to the bottom of the ocean to “swim with the fishes.”
Remember those four “bargain” British submarines that turned out to be shoddy and dangerous trinkets?
So, what's in the RFP (request for proposal) now? He's gone. Official cost estimates have not been disclosed. This is another no-communication secret of the Mark Carney government. Hello? You won't be able to buy until you know your costs.
Despite this, our Prime Minister wants to “move quickly to purchase.” Really? Who manages their business or family budget in this way? They make bankruptcies.
Oh, our liberals are now in the “information gathering phase.” Our Navy estimates that the first submarine will not be fully operational until 2037.
Plenty of time to screw up.
However, our feds have narrowed their choice to two subcontractors: German and South Korean.

How about allowing our naval personnel to choose their next submarine without any interference from our politicians? Let's see what we get.
Yeah, like it's about to happen. In a pork cutlet.

LONG RIDE BY LRT TRAIN
Re: “Flaws” discovered during testing of LRT East Extension, City of Ottawa reports online, Oct. 25.
I read an article about the eastern extension of the LRT. Incredible. Five years ago I visited Ottawa and the 12.5 km eastern section was just getting started.
From 1988 to 1994, in just six years, they built three tunnels under the English Channel, two of them large enough to accommodate full-size trains, some 50 kilometers long. Here, decades later, we cannot find personnel who can build a 12.5-kilometer-long surface light rail line in five years.

There have been so many problems with Ottawa's LRT system over the years, and so many excuses, but in countries like Norway and Sweden, light rail and regular trains were built and running smoothly, so maybe someone should visit those countries and learn their methods.

LUST THE BACK FOR FORD
Give Doug Ford a pat on the back for standing up to dictator Donald Trump. I wish our Liberal leader Mark Carney would have done the same instead of doing whatever Mr. Trump tells him to do.
