To 30-year-old letter writer Nick Dunley, I say I agree with almost everything you say about our current government (regarding its spending and the unattainable dream of owning a home).

However, my sympathy for your plight ends with the fact that your generation (perhaps not you specifically) was largely responsible for bringing Justin Trudeau's Liberal regime to power ten years ago for no real reason other than the legalization of marijuana and indifference to the real issues… and here we are.

Hope the legal consequences were worth it, dudes, because now you're reaping the consequences for such an immature choice. I know the rest of us are excited about it.

To make matters worse, there is pressure to lower the voting age to 16! For that reason alone, it should be raised to 21. Of course, there are plenty of adults who don't seem to think much about the future when they vote either.

MUST GO GRIPENS

Re: YOU SAID IT: Go with Gripen, online, November 25.

I couldn't agree more with letter writer Wayne Boyce about buying Swedish Gripens.

The Swedish deal is much better for Canada. I would say that we will cancel the first batch of American aircraft that were supposed to be purchased. Let the American administration sue us! Gives us the opportunity to reconsider this price.

And forget about airplanes for a minute. It's about sending a message to our trading partners around the world.

Not to be confused with Canada.

May you rest in peace, tired taxpayer.

Now that our economy has lost its way

Oh, crying for the comforts we once enjoyed

The comfort we enjoyed

Now foreclosures and thousands unemployed

And in the end Carney's EU dividends made him

Get rich using the old Elbows Up trick.

O weeping land we once enjoyed

Strong Canada, not Trump bait!
