Most social networks do not have such controls, and anonymity forces people to behave in ways they would never behave in person. As a result, society becomes impolite and polarized.

To make matters worse, social media algorithms reward outrageous posts while discouraging moderation and consensus. The AI's contribution will only exacerbate this hostility because it has no integrity or soul.

Society must reward moderation and consensus before radical groups on both sides of the spectrum turn into violent mobs.

Re: Ford gets radar wrong, letter to the editor, October 14.

Someone tell the author of the above letter to leave the capital region and look at the condition of the roads in the rest of Canada because they are crap. Twenty minutes from Ottawa is the Pothole Olympics.

Photo radar is a money grab by politicians who can't balance budgets and allocate money for everything except fixing aging infrastructure.

And yes, I drive under the speed limit and have not received a ticket for ten years.
