First of all, kudos to Prime Minister Mark Carney for laying the groundwork with Alberta to begin construction of the pipeline, and yes, the project is still a long way off, but at least the ship has turned around somewhat.

However, now is the time to develop a model agreement with indigenous peoples once and for all.
Canada can no longer wait decades for Indigenous people to support every resource-based project, so let's sit down and have the courage to overcome this hurdle in a timely manner.
While British Columbia Premier David Eby plays his part, it only encourages dissatisfaction among Indigenous people, who are waiting to see how much they can get from the government.

Re: Rudeness is growing?; Integrity Commission updates council members on community engagement, Nov. 28.
Is this a matter of “rudeness” or taxpayers expressing their frustration towards those who continually ignore the services they are charged with making sure we receive? We pay fairly high taxes, but our money is spent on things we don't need or want (especially at the federal level).
I'll be the first to admit that I get angry when I see my tax dollars being wasted, and I'm not afraid to speak out about it. That's probably why the feds want to control the Internet… not just what we see or read, but what we can say.
No level of government is listening to Canadians, so it's understandable that tempers will eventually flare. I do not see much of the duty of councilors under the Municipalities Act to “always serve and appear to serve the interests of their constituents”.

Given the “wokeness” that permeates everything these days, where people are so easily offended and their feelings hurt, and where businesses and developers are bowed down, is it any wonder that the needs of taxpayers always seem to come last?
I doubt this will change until governments start taking our concerns about the issues that affect us seriously.
