Wolverine Actor Hugh Jackman Stars in First Trailer for The Death of Robin Hood

The first trailer for the upcoming film The Death of Robin Hood has been released, giving us our first look at the new actor playing the legendary archer.

Hugh Jackman, star of Deadpool vs. Wolverine, The Greatest Showman and The Prestige, trades his adamantium claws for a bow and arrow in a teaser for the 2026 film from Pig director and A Quiet Place: Day One director Michael Sarnoski.

While his old teammates There might be a new trailer for X-Men today. As they prepare to appear in Marvel's Avengers: Judgment Day, Jackman can be seen portraying an older version of the criminal than we're used to seeing on screen. The film is said to follow a more mature portrayal of the British mythical character as he struggles with his past life of violence and crime. From what we see in the trailer, it seems like the tone couldn't be a million miles away from 2017's Logan, which starred Jackman as an aging Wolverine.

Jackman follows in a long line of actors to play the Nottingham archer, but from the trailer at least it looks like his British accent will be a far better effort than Russell Crowe's attempt in Ridley Scott's 2010 action adventure. Other stars to take up the mantle include Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Errol Flynn and Taron Egerton.

The A24-produced film, described as a thriller, also features 28 Years Later's Jodie Comer, Pennywise actor Bill Skarsgård and The Last of Us' Murray Bartlett in the cast.

The trailer is released amid rumors of… will Jackman return to his most iconic role as Wolverine from the X-Men. On the BBC's The Graham Norton Show, the actor recently responded when asked about donning the yellow superhero suit again: “I'll never say never again.” Because I really meant it when I said never, until the day I changed my mind. But I did say it, for years I meant it.”
