Wobbly Life set for film and TV adaptations

Rubber Band Games' hit open-world sandbox Wobbly Life is being adapted for film and television.

The UK-based independent developer has partnered with Prime Universe Films to adapt the game as part of the studio's transmedia efforts.

Prime Universe Films previously adapted two Hitman films starring Timothy Olyphant and Rupert Friend.

The company's CEO, Adrian Askari, is also the executive producer of the Hitman television series, which is currently in production at 20th Television.

“[Wobbly Life]The explosive growth shows the power of the universe, and I am thrilled to be working with RubberBandGames to bring this to film and television,” said Askariye.

“This world has a tone, personality and characters that allow for storytelling in different formats.”

Wobbly Life launched in 2020 as a one-person indie project and has since grown into a global franchise.

The game has sold over 2.8 million units worldwide and has a total player base of six million across all platforms. In 2025, player engagement reached over 60 million hours.

“From day one, Wobbly Life’s success has been driven by community,” said Rubber Band Games founder Tom Dunn.

“The team and I have been blown away by the tremendous growth this year and we are thrilled to see Wobbly Life take its first steps into film and television. We expect 2026 to be even bigger.”
