A magical journey awaits at Wizard101
KingsIsle Entertainment Wizard101 has officially brought its beloved turn-based MMO to consoles, allowing players to experience its mesmerizing world outside of PC for the first time. The magical adventure that has captivated millions of players is now available on PlayStation and Xbox. This launch opens the gates of the Spiral to a whole new audience of aspiring wizards.
Originally a PC exclusive, Wizard101 combines strategy and fantasy in a turn-based deck-building system. Players visit Ravenwood Academy, learn spells, and fight to protect the many enchanting worlds of the Spiral. With its release on consoles, new players and longtime fans alike will be able to dive into this family-friendly MMO. It's a world filled with colorful characters, whimsical settings, and layers of magical storytelling.
The console version of Wizard101 is free to download and offers free access to the newly expanded Free to Play zone in the Oasis zone in Krokotopia. Players can unlock additional adventures by using Crowns (the in-game currency) or purchasing Access Passes from the console store. At launch, PlayStation and Xbox users will be able to purchase the Wizard101 Arc 1 Access Pass, which includes the complete first part of the story, for $19.99.
Console players will begin their journey all over again as progress from PC servers does not carry over and cross-progression is not currently available. KingsIsle also confirmed that Wizard101 will be coming to Nintendo Switch at a later date. It will also be available for $19.99, which includes full access to the first story arc. Switch players will share servers with other console users, providing a shared magical experience across all platforms.
Making its console debut, Wizard101 continues to expand its magical universe, welcoming both returning wizards and newcomers to a world where magic and strategy intertwine.
