I think there's a very strong argument to be made that Twitter is not a place where information about, well, frankly, anything, should be shared casually and to the point. This is a site so that, if we need to use it, post things like “just downloaded some MP3s to my iPod Touch” without revealing that Arrowhead is currently testing a roguelite mode in Helldivers 2That's exactly what the game's creative director Johan Pilestedt did today.
He also said it just as simply. In response to someone suggesting to him that bagel the regime can be fun, Pilestedt is simple and polite, replied“Hey! We have a prototype rogue-lite mode – it changes the game dramatically!” You can't do that, Pilestedt, because now people will harass you, and only the gods know how long it will be before such a regime is officially announced and/or available.
There are zero other details found about such a prototype (less than one, more than minus one) as Pilestedt hasn't shared them, and I'm guessing he won't until there's something serious to share. After all, this is a live service game, concepts and features are constantly changing, who knows if this game will even be released?
It's also worth remembering that this is a live service game, which has been struggling under its own weight lately. Back in October he received major update Fixed over 200 bugs (not like this), the update comes after months of performance issues. These problems were so numerous that they had to be stop adding new items such as content and feature updates for a whilethe thing that makes the money wheel turn. So yes, if this roguelite mode ever arrives, expect it to take a while.
Things are looking good these days, and just last week Arrowhead released a build of the game that reduce file size to 23 GB from 154 GBThis is exactly the kind of news my hard drive likes to see.
