The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are expected to hire Tommy Condell as their offensive coordinator for the 2026 season, sources confirmed. 3DownNation. Arash Madani was first to report the news.
The longtime CFL assistant coach has been the Ottawa Redblacks' offensive coordinator for the past two seasons. In 2025, his unit finished sixth in net offense (338.5), eighth in offensive points (22.1) and ninth in yards per game (5.99), but was second in time of possession (30.59). At the end of the season it was not retained.
Condell worked closely with franchise quarterback Zach Collaros when he was the offensive coordinator of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2013 to 2015. In his first two seasons, the team reached back-to-back Gray Cup games and led the CFL in net offense with Collaros at the helm in 2015.
The 54-year-old's first CFL coaching job came in 1997, when he was the Blue Bombers' special teams coordinator. He also served as the offensive coordinator for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts and previously held assistant positions with the Hamilton, Toronto and Ottawa Renegades.
The Blue Bombers' offensive was led by freshman Jason Hogan in 2025, who drew criticism from players and fans alike. It remains unclear whether Hogan will sign with Winnipeg next year, as head coach Mike O'Shea recently declined to discuss the status of his assistants.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers finished fourth in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 10–8 record, qualifying for the playoffs as a crossover team before losing in the East semi-finals to the Montreal Alouettes. Zach Collaros threw for 3,048 yards, 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 13 regular-season games while going 6-7 as a starter.
The Blue Bombers ranked fifth in net offense, third in net defense and eighth with a minus-eleven turnover margin. The club's leading rusher was Brady Oliveira with 1,163 yards, the club's leading receiver was Nick Demski with 1,001 yards, and the club's leading tackler was Tony Jones with 104 tackles. Winnipeg ranked first in attendance with an average attendance of 32,343, up 3.7 per cent from the previous year.
