A pair of Western Division clubs could be in contention for the final two CFL playoff spots if things go well in Week 19.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the easiest path to the postseason with a win-win scenario against the Edmonton Elks on Saturday. A win would secure the five-time defending Western Division champion at least a spot in the crossover and keep alive hopes of a sixth straight Gray Cup appearance. The Bombers are currently 3.5-point road favorites in this game and defeated the Moose in their only other matchup this season.

The Calgary Stampeders will also have a big stake in the outcome of this game as they need a win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and a loss against Edmonton to book their playoff berth. The Stamps are riding a four-game losing streak and find themselves three-point underdogs against the Ticats. Last season, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in 18 years.

If both West Division rivals win—and they also lose—the door will officially slam shut. on the Edmonton Elks' slim playoff hopes. This team has not played in a postseason game since 2019.

In addition to both teams projecting to make the playoffs, both division leaders could secure their crowns and secure a first-round exit. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats need a win over Calgary or a loss to the Montreal Alouettes on Thanksgiving Monday to clinch first place in the East, while the Saskatchewan Roughriders will win the West with a win over the Toronto Argonauts on Friday or a loss in Calgary.

Saskatchewan was the first team to qualify for the playoffs in week 15, followed by Hamilton in week 16. The Alouettes secured their spot last week, followed by the BC Lions.
