It's that special time of year again when we give you the chance to do well by doing good. That's right, it's our annual charity event for 2025!
Every year since 2007we encouraged readers to donate Children's Play Charity Penny Arcadewhich provides toys and games to children being treated in hospitals around the world. In recent years we have added Electronic Frontier Foundation for our charity event, helping in their efforts to protect Internet freedom. This year, as always, we're providing an extra incentive for those donations by offering donors the chance to win pieces of our big stack of vendor-provided gifts. We can't keep it and don't want it to overrun our offices, so now the win is yours.
This year's gift pile is full of expensive souvenirs for geeks. We have over a dozen prizes totaling nearly $5,000.including gaming equipment and collectibles, apparel and more. In 2023, Ars readers raised almost $40,000 for charitycontributing to the general export over $542,000 since 2007. We want to raise even more this year, and we can do it if readers dig deeper.
