It's not even Halloween yet, but a country legend is already handing out Christmas gifts.
Like Mariah Carey Willie Nelson is getting into the holiday spirit even before Halloween, when the country legend shared his new holiday ballad.”Christmas A song about love.”
Tender Track finds Nelson working with his longtime collaborator and producer Buddy Cannon on a track written by Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Anderson with Bobby Tomberlin and Marv Green. The song also features the great harmonica player Mickey Raphael.
“It's not much, but every word is true/It doesn't sparkle or shine/But it's one of a kind,” Nelson sings on the track. “And I put my whole heart into this Christmas love song for you.”
Nelson has provided fans with holiday music during past Christmases, most notably in 1979. Beautiful paperhis first Christmas record and Number nine on Rolling StoneList of the 40 Most Important Christmas Albums. Nelson also released a 1994 album.
