Fantastic interview Daily Telegraph Yesterday from Cayo Carrieri was full of interesting details about the early life of Estevao Willian.
The youngster has been a highly regarded prodigy since he was just three years old – that's a lot of pressure, and the reason Estevao has been able to cope is because of his strong family.

His first coach had some interesting remarks about the striker's personality and his family.
Estevao's family is an important part of his development
Estevao played in Brazil as a child.
“He was a very polite, shy boy. Always listened carefully, always wanted to perfect every touch. His family was deeply close-knit and his parents were always there. You can see it in him today, he's still down to earth, still a family boy.”
This is vital – we have all seen great talents go down the wrong path due to bad influences off the field. The article also notes the lengths his family went to to help him in his career, and the religious theme that is very strong for the teenager:

“To help Estevan achieve his dream, his family moved with him to Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, approximately 230 miles from [Estevao’s hometown] Frank. Raised in a deeply religious family, he shares a particularly close bond with his father, an evangelical pastor, his mother Hetiena, a homemaker, and his younger sister Esther, to whom he is especially devoted.”
Let's hope this positive influence continues and we see Estevao realize its enormous potential.
