Who should the Colts start in fantasy football in Week 7 with Josh Downs out?
Indianapolis Colts ruled out wide receiver Josh Downes for a Week 7 matchup with the LA Chargers.
So, if you have Downs on your fantasy team, who should you look to replace him with?
As for the actual slot options for Coltsthe next person will be Anthony Gould. But I guess we won't see much of him on Sunday.
In games last season when the Colts played without Downs, it was a group effort to mitigate his absence from the slot.
In weeks one and two of the 2024 season, with Downs out, Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce and A.D. Mitchell had relatively equal opportunities in the slots. This season you can also add Tyler Warren to the mix.
I also wouldn't be surprised if we see a heavy dose of two or even three tight end sets that could leave two or fewer receivers on the field as the Colts lean toward playing against that Chargers front.
So to answer the original question, there is no one answer. Any of the players mentioned above could be an option as they potentially see more targets while Downs is out. For this particular role, I would expect several different Colts pass catchers to line up inside.
