Two players will compete for the title of national champion.
Mendoza led Indiana to an undefeated season and Big Ten Championship over Ohio State last Saturday. The team is ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff.
The Hoosiers star moved to Indiana from California. He has an FBS-best 2,980 passing yards and 33 touchdown passes. He threw just six interceptions. He was instrumental in Indiana's success this season as he helped put together important wins despite late game mistakes.
Sain is also competing for a national championship with the Buckeyes. Ohio State is the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff after losing to Indiana in the conference title game. Over the summer, Sain had to compete for the starting job, and he was hired for this position without much collegiate experience.

With two star receivers in Jeremy Smith and Carnell Tate, Sayin threw for 3,329 yards and 31 touchdowns. He leads the nation with a completion percentage of 78.4.
Love proved to be the best running back in the country despite Notre Dame missing the playoffs. The junior rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Fighting Irish, increasing his numbers from his sophomore season.

Pavia is the hallmark of the group. He was one of the loudest voices in the finals of the award. He, of course, helped put Vanderbilt in the national spotlight with his performance over the last two years. In 2025, he threw for 3,192 yards and 27 touchdowns.
