Solo leveling Arise Overdrive has a fair amount of customization options as you can choose between different classes for Song Jin-Woo.

The classes have their own strengths and weaknesses, and there are four options to choose from. Each class has its own unique archetypes and skill tree. Choosing the right playstyle is essential if you want to clear the game's content, and this guide will erase all your confusion when starting out. Solo leveling Arise Overdrive.

All classes in single leveling Arise Overdrive

You will be able to choose a class for Song Jin-Woo once you complete the introductory missions. It's impossible to miss because it's part of the core gameplay system. The table below briefly describes all four classes.

Variety Archetype Complexity Starting abilities
Murderer Scoundrel very difficult Slashing Charge: Rush at an enemy and deliver a vicious upward slash.
Internal Wound: Deliver a precise strike, focusing all the energy in the dagger.
Duelist Fighter/Berserker Easy Onslaught: Jin-Woo unleashes a series of lightning-fast strikes and sends enemies flying with a powerful roundhouse kick.
Armor Break: Deal a powerful blow to one target, gathering all the energy.
Elementalist Mage Hard Cold Storm: Quickly slashes forward with a frost-infused blade. Raises target [Cold Ice] Elemental status effect value.
Firestorm Dagger: Throws multiple fire daggers forward and lifts the target. [Scorch] Elemental status effect value.
Ruler Summoner Normal Commander's Touch: Control objects without touching them. Does not require mana.
Dispel: Summons spears of shadow soldiers from underground to strike enemies.

Which class to choose in Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive

Since the game allows you to change classes, switching can be quite easy (more on that later). In my experience, all four classes are good, but you need to understand your preferences.

  • Murderer: When it comes to taking down enemies, this seems to be the strongest class. To do this, however, you will have to strategically plan your dodges and parries. The goal of this class is to attack effectively, and it is a very unforgiving archetype. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone when they're just starting out.
  • Duelist: This is the easiest class to master as it gives you good damage and a fair amount of health. You can take hits without worrying about dying too many times. However, the opportunities for success in the Duelist class are very small.
  • Elementalist: This is a fairly safe choice if you are afraid of dying. You'll use range and rely on your magical abilities to deal damage. I really enjoyed the Elementalist class, but the targeting system felt finicky at times. However, this will be a great choice for most players (unless you really like melee combat).
  • Ruler: This is my main class, and for two good reasons. Firstly, this is a class that matches the lore and corresponds to the actual webtoon. Secondly, why waste time fighting alone when you can raise your allies from the Shadows to do your bidding! You'll rarely have to fight alongside the Ruler class, which personally makes it the most interesting choice.

Once you have access to the Hunter Association, enter the main menu. Select the Sung Jinwoo tab and you can then invest skill points into various attributes. Skill points ultimately determine which class you are going to use. You can change a glass by discarding its skill points and reinvesting them at your discretion.

You can use the four default classes or customize them to your liking. Ultimately, you have complete freedom in how you invest your skill points. The reset option allows you to experiment with different builds until you find your preferred option.
