Former FIRE FESTIVAL con artist Billy McFarland has done it again. On December 3McFarland has announced another music festival. But what's the twist this time? This happened on the same weekend. “To the millions of people who doubted me, we are finally making our dreams come true in three days,” he shouted on Instagram. And the dream really (sort of) came true. The PHNX festival took place for one day in Diamond Cay, Honduras. (Because the Phoenix is reborn from fire, do you understand? Do you understand? You don’t understand.) French Montana was there. He performed. Concertgoers still showed up, paying anywhere from $200 to $500,000 for the privilege (according to Daily mail). There was a live stream that many people spent $7 to watch. There was food. There were bathrooms. Technically everything happened. So this is good news.
Bad news? Almost everything else. People who watched from afar social media said the event appears to be as well attended as some Friends Days. “There must be dozens of people there,” one TikTok commenter said. People didn't know the words Bobby Shmurdasongs. The electricity went out periodically. The vegetarian option was reported to be white rice and corn with silk threads on them. And for some reason the banner behind the stage said “Gooch Island.” But hey, it's still an improvement. remote FYRE 2.0.
