The Western Mustangs and Montreal Carabins dropped one spot in the U Sports rankings after heavyweight losses over the weekend.

The Mustangs suffered one of the most lopsided losses in program history, falling 60-13 to the top-ranked Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. Laurier scored 33 points in the third quarter in London as Cal Wither threw for 363 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. Western managed just 258 yards of pure offense, with their only touchdown coming from Jerome Rancourt.

The Carabines lost 16-6 to second-place Laval Rouge et Or in front of a sold-out crowd of 21,399. Pepe Gonzalez threw four interceptions in the loss, while the Carabins managed just 22 yards rushing against a tough defensive line. The team's only touchdown came on a 16-yard pass to Ralph Canal-Charles.

The Saskatchewan Huskies moved up to 4th place, leapfrogging the Carabins after a 24-10 win over the UBC Thunderbirds. The Huskies received two touchdowns from Saskatchewan Roughriders draft pick Daniel Wiebe and could move into first place in the Canada West standings with a win over the Manitoba Bisons, who beat them earlier this year.

The Golden Hawks remained in first place after a blowout win over Western, while the St. Mary's Huskies, Regina Rams and Queens Gaels held steady from No. 6 to No. 8. The Windsor Lancers moved up one spot to No. 9 after a narrow win over the Queens Gaels, and St. FX X-Men returned to the rankings in 10th place.
