Well it seems Light No FireHello Games' No Man's Sky sequel is still a long, long way off.
Hello Games founder Sean Murray made the case for No Man's Sky winning this year's Labor of Love award. Steam Awards (h/t PC gamer), and in doing so gave a brief – and unfortunately rather discouraging – update on Light No Fire.
“In the background, another small Hello team continues to work on our next labor of love, Light No Fire, and we know many of you want to hear more,” Murray wrote. “For now, suffice it to say that I’m very pleased with the progress we’re making and I think it’s going to be something really special. You can add this to your wishlist. Here“
“Small Team”?!? Are we working “in the background”?!?!? Tell me it's not true, Sean. I've been dying to get my hands on this game since it was announced in 2023, if only because I can't wait to see if it can live up to the ambitions of Murray and his team. He called the game “a truly open world, shared planet the size of Earth, with real oceans to cross, requiring large boats and crews.” It wasn't until several years after launch that it felt like the full vision of No Man's Sky had been realized, and I'm cautiously hopeful that Hello Games can deliver on the promise of Light No Fire right at launch.
