Rumors of a cheaper MacBook from Apple – possibly reaching prices of around $599 in the US – were has been spinning for months nowand a fresh report sheds more light on what could happen in the next few months.
Analysts from Trendforce (by using McRumors) are confident that a more affordable Apple laptop will appear in the northern hemisphere “in the spring of 2026”. This is March, April or May, although the report is nothing more specific.
Moreover, the laptop is said to have a 12.9-inch screen and will be targeted at the “entry and mid-class segment.” According to the TrendForce team, even with supply chain and pricing challenges, the laptop should find plenty of interested buyers.
These predictions aren't entirely new, but they're in line with what we've already heard about this laptop – and considering they're coming from a well-connected analyst firm, that makes us have more faith in their accuracy.

This would mean that Apple would come face to face with best chromebooks and Windows laptops to the cheapest end of the market – this may be enough to entice even more people to invest in Macs, but time will tell.
