Justin Trudeau's homemade Halloween costume appears to reference one of Katy Perry's past viral moments.
Trudeau, who was recently photographed holding hands with the singer in Paris, posted a photo on Instagram posing with her youngest child Adrian in their group Halloween costume.
The photo showed the former Canadian prime minister wearing an inflatable shark costume and holding a bloody surfboard with a bite mark, while his son wore a sleeveless wetsuit with fake blood dripping down his face.
In the caption, Trudeau shared the story behind his suits, which appeared to include a subtle nod to Perry.
“Ready for Halloween with Adrian: He's a surfer, I'm a shark (to his left),” he wrote. “We created the costume together—a little father-son Halloween collaboration.”

During the performance, two dancers dressed up in shark costumes. While one dancer followed the routine to a T, the other—the shark to Perry's left—moved a little more freely.
It remains unclear whether Trudeau's suit was a true nod to Perry, but the former politician, who served as Canada's prime minister from 2015 to January 2025, and the “Fireworks” singer have been spotted together several times since the summer.
In Perry's footsteps broke up with fiancé Orlando Bloom in July after almost 10 years of marriage, Trudeau was spotted at one of her concerts I sang in the crowd in Montreal in the summer.
Perry and Trudeau were also seen together in early August.
Neither of them has publicly commented on the dating rumors.
Trudeau was previously married to his wife Sophie Gregoire for 18 years. announcing their separation in August 2023. In addition to their youngest son, Adrian, they also have a son, Xavier, and a daughter, Ella-Grace.
Perry shares daughter Daisy with Bloom, whom they welcomed in August 2020, more than a year after couple got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019.

Representatives for the former couple told TODAY.com in a statement: “Due to the abundance of recent interest and speculation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been transitioning their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting their children.”
“They will continue to be viewed as a family as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,” the statement said.
