Was Justin Trudeau’s Shark Halloween Costume a Nod to Katy Perry?

Justin Trudeau's homemade Halloween costume appears to reference one of Katy Perry's past viral moments.

Trudeau, who was recently photographed holding hands with the singer in Paris, posted a photo on Instagram posing with her youngest child Adrian in their group Halloween costume.

The photo showed the former Canadian prime minister wearing an inflatable shark costume and holding a bloody surfboard with a bite mark, while his son wore a sleeveless wetsuit with fake blood dripping down his face.

In the caption, Trudeau shared the story behind his suits, which appeared to include a subtle nod to Perry.

“Ready for Halloween with Adrian: He's a surfer, I'm a shark (to his left),” he wrote. “We created the costume together—a little father-son Halloween collaboration.”
