Aston Villa bounced back from their first defeat in two months to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Saturday to move up to second in the Premier League.
Villa captain John McGinn scored twice in the second half, capitalizing on England striker Ollie Watkins' long-range strike in first-half stoppage time.
Morgan Gibbs-White cut the lead to 2-1 in the 61st minute but McGinn restored Villa's two-goal cushion after some poor work from goalkeeper Forest's John Victor, who ran from his penalty area in an attempt to intercept the ball over the top. McGinn easily got past Victor and sent the ball home from 30 yards.
Victor left due to injury immediately after the goal.
Villa's 11-game winning streak, including eight league victories, ended with a 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal on Tuesday.
Unai Emery's side are ahead of Manchester City, who host Chelsea on Sunday, and are three points behind leaders Arsenal, who visit Bournemouth later.
Also on Saturday, Brighton host Burnley and West Ham visit bottom-placed Wolves, who have yet to win any of their 19 games this campaign.
