US to face Colombia, Argentina and Canada in 11th SheBelieves Cup – Winnipeg Free Press

The US women's national team will take on Canada, Argentina and Colombia at the annual SheBelieves Cup this March.

The round-robin tournament will be held in three cities: Nashville, Tennessee; Columbus, Ohio; and Harrison, New Jersey. The U.S. final at Sports Illustrated Stadium will include a ceremony honoring New Jersey native Tobin Heath, a two-time Women's World Cup winner who announced her retirement from soccer last year.

The US is currently ranked second in the world, Canada is 10th, Colombia is 20th, and Argentina is 30th.

“These three teams will likely compete at the World Cup in 2027, and of course, we will likely see Canada in World Cup qualifying later in the year, so if we focus on our continued preparation and growth as a team, the SheBelieves Cup has great value,” U.S. head coach Emma Hayes said in a statement announcing the tournament Wednesday. “Each team has different strengths and will challenge us to succeed in all areas, which is exactly what we need as we continue our process of preparing for big things on the horizon.”

Canada will play Colombia and then the United States against Argentina on March 1 in Nashville at GEODIS Park. On March 4, Argentina will play Colombia and the United States will play Canada at Miracle-Gro Field in Columbus. The tournament will conclude on March 7 in New Jersey, where Canada will play Argentina and the United States will play Colombia.

The United States has won seven of the 11 SheBelieves Cup tournaments. Japan won last year's event.

“This competition is a fantastic opportunity to once again compete against high-quality competition that will likely compete at the 2027 World Cup,” said Team Canada coach Casey Stoney. “The SheBelieves Cup has been a great challenge for our group in previous years and we are thrilled to be able to return for another chance to win the competition. Each team brings a different style that will challenge and ultimately prepare us to be the team we need to be.”
