- UnGodly is an upcoming gacha RPG from Azra Games.
- It is created by Mark Otero, the original developer of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
- The game will be released on mobile devices early next year and will support cross-play with the console and PC versions.
It's not often that ID@Xbox presentations matter to us at Pocket Gamer. Apart from personal interest, of course. But today things are a little different as it has been announced that Azra Games is bringing its upcoming RPG UnGodly to mobile devices as well as consoles and PC.
Not only that, but it will be coming to mobile devices first. Our target release is Q1 2026, with console and PC players receiving it later this year. This makes sense too. Not only is it a “character collection RPG” (also known to you and me as a gacha RPG), something that is found at home and expected on phones, but Mark Otera is its creator.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, Otera was the original developer of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, so it's fair to say he knows a thing or two about mobile devices. Of course, he left all his Jedi and Sith deeds behind him, but what he left behind endures as Galaxy of Heroes turns ten years old next month.
Cut into cubes
So that's a promising pedigree, but what about the game itself? Well, other than the rather boring title, it gives me Genshin and dark fantasy vibes. Based on the trailer, which you can watch above, you can switch between characters during combat to use their different skills to defeat your enemies.
While I admit that this is a rather frivolous description, I would say that it is still quite accurate. At least from what we have seen now. There's a lot more blood here too, and I'm all for it. We have no shortage of colorful anime-style gacha RPGs, so something a little more gritty is very welcome.
Don't just expect bloodthirsty action, though. Azra promised to focus on storytelling, particularly through the Affinity system. With it, you'll be able to uncover the different stories of each character, each of which sounds like it's riddled with tragedy and vulnerability.
I see a lot of people turning off right away, but I for one am very intrigued by what UnGodly has to offer when it releases next year. In the meantime, you can check out official website and our list best gacha games on Android.
