Good news for fans Stranger Things: The final episode of the fifth and final season of the hit series will premiere simultaneously on Netflix and in 350 theaters in the United States and Canada on December 31st.
The list of theaters that will present this final two-hour episode will be announced later, Netflix said Thursday.
The long-awaited final season Stranger Things will be launched in three stages. The first four episodes will be released on Netflix on November 26, during the American Thanksgiving Day. Three more chapters will be released on Christmas Day. Finally, the grand finale will hit the platform on December 31st, coinciding with its theatrical release.
“We're really excited for fans to see the final episode. Stranger Things to the movies,” the Duffer Brothers, the series’ creators, said in a press release.
“Seeing it on the big screen in a room full of fans seems like the best way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”
Release of the fourth season of the series Stranger Things dates back more than three years ago. Filming of the fifth was delayed for several months due to the American screenwriters' strike that raged in Hollywood in the summer of 2023.
Stranger Things became a hit on Netflix when the first season of the series was released in July 2016.
