A former veterinarian on Montreal's south shore who allegedly sexually abused clients during consultations is now suspected of killing six victims.

Abdelmalek Salhi appeared Wednesday at the Longueuil courthouse on charges of sexually assaulting three other women between January 2020 and December 2021. He also allegedly stalked one of them during this period.
He remains free under certain conditions to continue the trial. He will return to court in December.
Salhi initially filed charges against three women earlier this year.
The police made the case public to find out whether the resident of Carignan in Monteregie had attacked other people. It was during consultations that he allegedly touched clients.
Abdelmalek Salhi “used his status as a veterinarian at a veterinary clinic in Longueuil to contact other potential victims,” authorities said.
Career change
The 62-year-old is reported to have sold his clinic in 2022. Magazine. Most recently he worked at home under the name AMS Vétérinaire.
However, according to our research, the accused is no longer licensed to practice by the Order of Veterinarians of Quebec.
The disciplinary board's decision, handed down in April last year, shows that Abdelmalek Salhi has decided to “refocus his career.”

In recent years, Salha has had some problems with the disciplinary board.
For example, last year he was temporarily suspended for several mistakes in the treatment of Watson, a 3-year-old Chihuahua.
Suspicious fires
In fact, Abdelmalek Salhi's problems began in the fall of 2018, when he became the target of mysterious arson attacks.
There were two fires in his house. On one occasion, he was able to put out a fire in his garage; in another, a family car burned to the ground.
“I'm scared. We are in real danger. If it weren't for the alarm, we would already be there!” he begged Magazine he then stated that the most likely explanation was that the house's previous owner was “apparently a schemer in black tie.”
