Ubisoft veteran establishes new developer Quality Time Studio

Ubisoft veteran Johannes Timme founded Quality Time Studio, a new developer based in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Quality Time Studio creates original game prototypes and also offers consulting, training and mentoring services for aspiring developers and indie studios.

This includes supporting product vision, publishing and investment strategies, production processes and business structures, as well as helping to establish “international and multicultural collaborations.”

Timme also aims to further develop the gaming industry in the Lower Saxony region by founding Quality Time Studio.

“I often hear from developers who have been in the industry for a long time that they can imagine living outside of big cities – this is a real opportunity for the region,” he explained.

“Compared to some other German states, the gaming industry in Lower Saxony is not yet so well developed. I would be delighted if, through Quality Time Studio, I can help create another creative hub in the region in the medium to long term – not only for experienced developers, but also for new talent.”

Timme has two decades of experience in games, having worked at Ubisoft for 13 years.

He has held several key positions at the development company, including Lead Producer, Director of Coding, Director of Online Services Site, and was also a member of the executive team at Ubisoft Düsseldorf.

During his time at Ubisoft, Timme worked on major franchises such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Star Wars, Avatar and Rainbow Six.

Timme also helped create Ubisoft's co-development division in Germany and oversaw the German online services team that develops Ubisoft Connect.
