Tyree Adams will likely make his second straight start for the Ottawa Redblacks as Dustin Crum sits out of practice with a head injury. according to TSN 1200 narrator A.Ya. Yakubek.
The 6-foot, 185-pound dual-threat passer made his first start in two years last week, throwing for 286 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in a 39-28 loss to the Montreal Alouettes. He also ran the ball eight times for 26 yards.
The 28-year-old St. Petersburg, Florida native has been with the Redblacks since 2022, although he missed most of that time with a torn ACL in 2023. He made one start that season – his first of two CFL starts – and led Ottawa to a victory over the Edmonton Elks, throwing for 185 yards, one touchdown and rushing three times for 31 yards.
In total, Adams threw for 698 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions and rushed 19 times for 107 yards over 22 CFL regular-season games.
The Ottawa Redblacks (4-13) will face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (10-7) at Hamilton Stadium on Friday, October 24, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm ET. Redblacks, who have already dropped out of the playoff racelost to Montreal 39-28, while the Tigercats can move into first place in the East Division with a win this week.
