Tyreek Hill praised Chiefs coach for disparaging Trump’s NFL knowledge

Kansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub responded to the president's remarks Thursday. Donald Trump criticism of the NFL's new kickoff rule as the team prepares for its game against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.

Trump has openly stated his dislike for NFL rules for starting matches, which have become permanent this year. The most recent criticism came when he appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week, calling him “terrible.”

“He doesn’t even know what he’s looking at,” Tobe said this week when reporters asked about it. “He has no idea what's going on with the kickoff rule. Take it for granted. And I hope he hears it.”

The clip went viral on social networks and attracted attention Tyreek Hillwho “loves[d]”what he saw.

“Damn animal, I love it,” Hill X wrote on Friday.

Taub has been with the Chiefs as special teams coordinator since 2013 and became associate head coach in 2018. Hill suited up for the Chiefs from his 2016 call-up through the 2021 season. He returned to the Chiefs early in his career before establishing himself as one of the game's best wide receivers.

Trump was on ESPN for a Veterans Day special and voiced more criticism of the rules.

“I think it's so terrible. I think it's so demeaning and I think it's detrimental to the game. It hurts the entertainment experience,” Trump said. “I told (NFL commissioner) Roger Goodell about it, and I don’t think it’s any safer. I mean, you still have guys bumping into each other.”

In September, the president called the dynamic start rule “unwomen's football.”
