Join the battlefield of Tyre
Stoke Games has officially unveiled Tyr, a new free-to-play multiplayer tank shooter that puts strategy before reflexes. The studio also released the first trailer for the game, giving players a look at the tactical team combat. You can take a look for yourself right below.
In Tyre, two teams of eight players battle it out in strategic arenas using a varied lineup of armored vehicles. Each of them has unique abilities and play styles. Some tanks specialize in teleportation-style movement to quickly change positions. While others use sonar pulses to detect hidden threats or launch powerful ramming attacks to dominate close combat. Each vehicle can be customized and upgraded, allowing players to adapt their tactics and experiment with different combinations.
After two years of private testing with a small, dedicated community, Stoke Games is opening the closed playtest of the Shooting Range to a wider audience. The studio is looking to bring in new players to refine balance, refine mechanics, and gather community feedback before launch.
“We’ve been building Tyr alongside our community for a long time,” said Veigar Bowus, co-founder and chief product officer at Stoke Games. “It all started with a small group of players who believed in the idea and helped us turn it into something special. Now we're ready to invite more people, and this trailer is our way of saying, 'Come see what we're working on and help us take it to the next level.'
