President Donald Trump said Wednesday he is classifying Antifa as a “foreign terrorist organization.”
On Wednesday, Trump convened a roundtable on Antifa at the White House, vowing to take aggressive action against the group. The event followed him order and Federal Register entrance designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization – no State Department action has yet designated Antifa as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list. “Do you want this done? Do you think it will help?” Trump asked about the FTO designation. “I'd be happy to do that. I think that's exactly what I'd like to do. Is everyone on board? If you're on board, I'm on board. Let's do it, OK? Let's do it. Marco, we'll take care of it… Sounds good to me.”
“The epidemic of left-wing violence and antifa-inspired terror has been escalating for nearly a decade,” the president said earlier in the roundtable. “We will be a much greater threat to them than they ever were to us, including the people who fund them.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and other officials present at the roundtable also compared Antifa to established terrorist or criminal groups.
“Their goal is to destroy the American people and our way of life, and this president stands in their way,” Noem said.
Any move to list Antifa as a foreign terrorist organization would have to come from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As of Wednesday, Antifa is still not listed on the FTO list, although it is listed as a domestic terrorist organization in the Federal Register.
