The news that Andrew got out of bed is a miracle given the last update we received, which was from West Virginia Republican Gov. Patrick Morrisey, who eight days ago reported that Wolf responded to a nurse who asked him a question, but was still fighting for his life as RedState reported.
We have received positive news about SSgt. Andrew Wolf. At the nurse's request, he was able to give a “thumbs up” and wiggle his toes. We continue to pray for his recovery. pic.twitter.com/2CxZFftFGj

“Andrew remains in serious condition,” Morrisey said at a recent news conference. “We have received some positive news: we are told that Andrew was asked if he could hear the nurse who asked a question for a thumbs up and he responded. We're told he was also wiggling his toes. So we take this as a positive sign.”
At one point, Morrissey said that the most important message he wanted to convey from Andrew's parents was to keep those prayers coming; he needs them.

“I think West Virginians are strong and they know that everything is being done now to ensure that justice is served,” the governor continued. “But just as importantly, we must do everything we can to pray and comfort people who are going through simply unspeakable times right now.”
