Trump says he’ll approve final Ukraine peace plan after Zelenskyy meeting

President Donald Trump has said he will take the final steps in a peace deal to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky prepares to unveil a new peace plan when they meet on Sunday.

“He has nothing until I approve it,” Trump told POLITICO on Friday. “So let's see what he's got.”

Zelensky told reporters on Friday that he would meet with Trump on Sunday in Florida and share 20-point peace proposal for consideration by the President. In addition, Zelensky said that the meeting will most likely talk about security guarantees for Ukrainebut said it was unclear whether “territorial issues would be discussed.”

White House did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment to confirm the meeting.

Meanwhile, Trump expressed optimism about meeting with Zelenskyand future conversations with Putin.

“I think he'll be fine. I think he'll be fine. [Vladimir] Putin,” Trump told POLITICO. Trump also said he expected to talk to Putin “soon.”

Trump has met with Zelensky multiple times since taking office in January, including in February when Zelensky openly sparred with Trump and Vance in the Oval Office over engaging in diplomacy with Russia to end the conflict. Besides, Trump met with Putin in Alaska in August.
