Trump once again called for political attack on anyone who ever investigated him, citing his position as “Chief Law Enforcement Officer.”
“I'm the one who had to go through [investigations] and ultimately win. But what they did was criminal. Deranged Jack Smith is, in my opinion, a criminal. And I noticed his interviewer, I think it was [former federal prosecutor Andrew] Weissman. And I hope they check Weissman too, Weissman is a bad guy and he has someone on his case. [former Deputy Attorney General] Lisa [Monaco] who was his puppet, really worked in the office as the top man,” Trump said during a press conference Wednesday with FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi. “I think it should be treated very carefully. It was a huge criminal enterprise.”
He then went on to discuss how fair elections, a fair press and borders are the most important issues in America right now, before turning back to his political enemies.
“They committed a major political crime. I hope they're looking at Shifty.” [Adam] Schiff, I hope they're looking at all these people. And I’m allowed to find out, theoretically I’m allowed as the ‘Chief Law Enforcement Officer’… I hope they’re investigating political crimes, because there’s never been as many political crimes against a political opponent as what I went through.”

These so-called “criminals” Trump is referring to are Jack Smith, Lisa Monaco, Andrew Weissman and Adam Schiff – all people who have legitimately and legitimately investigated various alleged crimes, including Trump's mishandling of classified documents, Trump's role in inciting the January 6 insurrection, and Russian interference in the 2016 election.
And be that as it may, Trump is in many ways not the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, but the attorney general (although Bondi has proven that he is willing to agree with the president). Not only does Trump continue to attack people on baseless criminal charges, but he also misrepresents the authority he has to do so.
