Trump is losing his most loyal supporters: Poll

Voters are begging President Donald Trump to stop tweeting, and the president's most loyal supporters are beginning to waver.

According to new Politico/Morning Consult vote69 percent of voters said Trump uses Twitter too much, and 59 percent said his Twitter use “is bad.” A majority of voters also believe the president's tweets harm national security, according to the poll.

But this is not a partisan issue as Republicans grow increasingly concerned about how often Trump also uses Twitter. “53 percent of GOP voters think Trump tweets too much, although slightly more Republicans say Trump's use of Twitter overall is a good thing (41 percent) than a bad thing (37 percent),” Politico reports.

Twitter isn't the only thing hampering Trump's presidency, as the president's traditional staunch supporters are beginning to change their tune. according to in the Washington Post. Nate Silver of FiveThiryEight indicated that there has been a “significant decline in the number of Americans who I strongly approve Trump, from a peak of about 30 percent in February to just 21 or 22 percent of the electorate now. (In fact, the decline in Trump's high approval ratings exceeds his overall decline.)”

A vote A release Wednesday from Quinnipiac University confirmed Silver's observation, the Post reported. “If you look at Quinnipiac polling trends since January, strong approval of the president's performance has weakened in a number of constituencies, including Republicans and whites without a college degree.”

Those who once expressed “strong support” for Trump—Republicans, whites without college degrees, white men 65 and older, white women, independents and people ages 18 to 34—all saw a steady decline.

“It's rare for people's opinions in politics to change 180 degrees. For example, when people change their minds about who they'll vote for, there's often an in-between stop of 'undecided' before their choice of candidate changes. Likewise, people are less likely to go from strongly approving of what Trump is doing to outright disliking it; instead, their approval is likely to wane a bit first,” reports Post newspaper.
