On Friday, the Trump administration officially entered enemy territory, with the White House and many government agencies opening social media accounts in a liberal hellhole called Bluesky. Bluesky is very similar to X and Truth Social in appearance and functionality. The difference is that expressing any position other than the very left will get you kicked out. When Elon Musk took over Twitter and began destroying the liberal infrastructure, leftists fled to BlueSky for uninterrupted masturbation.

On Friday everything changed. President Trump led the charge with a video called “Daddy's Home.”

Most of them probably aren't old enough to catch the reference, but the riff from Norman Greenbaum's monster 1969 hit “Spirit in the Sky” that starts at 0:19 is classic trolling within a troll.

It remains to be seen whether Bluesky management will allow the US government to use its platform.
Although this is funny, it is far from trivial. Taking the administration's message to the heart of the enemy… oops, yes, yes, I called the left our enemies, not just misled fellow citizens… shows that the White House believes it is winning. Polls show just as many Americans blame the White House shutdown as Democrats. It's a major change, partly because of the White House's aggressive pushback against Democratic attack lines. As I noted last week, during J.D. Vance's interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, not a single question was asked about the shutdown; see J.D. Vance Cook accused George Stephanopoulos of refusing to talk about Schumer's shutdown – RedState.
Polls also show that a majority of Americans support Trump's crackdown on immigration, even if they may find the approach nauseating. The vast majority is in favor of killing drug dealers. Now that it's out of fashion, no one supports DEI. Redistricting could very well destroy the Democratic caucus in the House of Representatives for a couple of generations. In short, we are at that point in the fight where the other guy is about to throw down his rifle and decide he has urgent business elsewhere.
What you see here is the social media equivalent of Sherman's March to the Sea. It is the administration that cuts, burns, and pillages a rhetorical path through the enemy's hinterland; something the enemy never expected.
Bluesky can either allow this to happen or deny it to the US government and face the consequences.
