Late Saturday, the Trump administration ordered that they must “immediately reverse” any actions they had taken to provide benefits to low-income families through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

“To the extent that states submitted complete SNAP payment files for November 2025, it was unauthorized. Accordingly, states should immediately reverse any steps taken to issue complete November 2025 SNAP benefit files,” USDA said. stated in the release. “Please inform the appropriate representative of the regional office of the Federal Tax Service of the measures taken to correct any actions taken that are not in accordance with this memorandum.”

The directive follows an administrative stay granted by the US Supreme Court. late friday temporarily blocking a lower court order requiring the Trump administration to pay SNAP benefits in full for November.

The high court said its order will remain in effect until the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit rules on that court's request for a stay.
