Three players were ejected as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Commanders 29-18 to win the NFC East title for the second straight year.
Washington's Javon Kinlaw and Quan Martin were ejected along with Philadelphia's Tyler Steen after a fight between both sets of players in the fourth quarter.
The incident occurred after Saquon Barkley's two-point conversion gave the visiting Eagles a 29-10 lead and the trio was flagged for unnecessary roughness during the collision.
“It’s not calm there. We have a lot of history with this team, especially since I've been here,” Barkley said.
“This team doesn’t like us, that’s true, and we don’t like them either. But we must save football.”
Barkley rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown for the NFL champions, while teammate Jalen Hurts completed 22 of 30 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
The win meant the Eagles (10-5) became back-to-back NFC East winners for the first time since they won four straight titles in 2004.
“There hasn't been a back-to-back division champion in 20 years, so this is very important,” Barkley said.
“I like the way we finished. We stood together and, most importantly, won.”
The Eagles are now confident of getting a home game to start the playoffs, while the Commanders are already out of the postseason shakeup.
