Having reached the Western finals, Veteran quarterback Trevor Harris had no time to talk about Nathan Rourke. However, after Saskatchewan beat BC to advance to the Green and White's first Gray Cup since 2013, the 39-year-old shared praise for the 2025 CFL All-Star QB, albeit with an important caveat.

“I know my comments (on Friday) were a little more brash than usual, but I saw Nathan say, 'This is our time. This is our time.” I think it’s our time,” Harris said after the game. victory with a score of 24-21.

Rourke, 27, could be seen and heard on TSN as he shouted to the sold-out crowd at Mosaic Stadium, “It's our time.” Our time has come. That came after he scored the go-ahead touchdown to give BC a 21-14 lead with less than seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. Late in the final frame, BC had two chances to get first downs on offense and run out the clock, but the Roughriders got two critical 2s and outs.

“I want to tell (head coach) Buck (Pearce) and this team, man, this is incredible,” Saskatchewan head coach. Corey Mays said. “Incredible team, incredible fight. They're well coached, great players. Nathan Rourke is a really good player, did some crazy things. Kudos to those guys, but I'm really happy with the way the defense has been on their head the last couple of attacks.”

The Canadian QB completed 20 of 30 passes for 290 yards with one touchdown and one interception (his receivers had several failed passes) and two touchdowns on the ground. Although Rourke failed to finish the game, he moved in the pocket, eluded pass rushers with ease and impressed his counterpart on the other team.

“Nathan Rourke is an outstanding player. He can win the league MVP and deservedly so. He's made some big plays, some things where he builds up the pocket and he gets coddled and he turns it over with his hand, that was pretty amazing,” Harris said. “Quite a fun duel, but we'll take it because in the end we had the last laugh. He's a great player with a great future. He'll be the face of the league for a while, but not right now.”

With the score 21–17 with one minute and 10 seconds on the clock, Harris led a seven-play, 76-yard winning drive. He completed six of seven passes, including a 21-yard strike to Donte Meyers that led to Tommy Nield's three-yard touchdown run. The catch was recognized as such by on-field officials and confirmed by the league's replay center.

“I feel like we lost because I don't know if people were rooting for us or if they wanted the other team (to win),” Harris said. “I think we've found a way to take it personally. This group is capable of more. Our best football game we haven't played yet and I really hope it could be in Winnipeg against Montreal.”

Saskatchewan (13-6) and the Alouettes (12-8) will meet in the 112th Gray Cup at Princess Auto Stadium on Sunday, November 16, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 pm ET. The weather forecast for Manitoba's capital calls for a temperature rise of two degrees with sunny and cloudy conditions. The game will be broadcast on TSN, CTV and RDS in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the US and CFL+ worldwide.
