Summer finally feels like it's just around the corner. I was very excited or unprepared.
I'm at that age when wedding season hits hard, plus my parents are moving to the beach from Memorial Day until Labor Day and my best friend is moving to London. These facts may seem unrelated to each other, but there is a constant thread between them: travel.
I've been lucky enough to do a lot journey in my life, from weekend getaways to full-blown airplane adventures. There will be many types of travel this summer, and if I'm essentially living out of bags, I want them to fit everything I need in the smartest, most organized way possible.
And so I became fixated on finding the perfect lightweight, easy to carry, yet ridiculously roomy travel bag. I'm talking about luggage that the airline considers a personal item – it's not a suitcase! – but one that will fit a compact makeup bag that will somehow fit all my essential products. Yes, I have a lot of personal care items, and yes, they are all necessary.
In my experience, a suitcase is a suitcase when it comes to both checked and carry-on luggage. Big or small, anything decently durable with wheels will do if you know how to make it. pack it properly (and it fits in the luggage compartment). I'm more concerned about the travel bag that I need to have with me at all times. This explains what I carry on my shoulders or constantly look through to access what I need.
This is what inspired my search – because I don't think I can survive another tough travel season without durable, reliable and well-designed luggage.
