Yildiz immediately looked like an experienced senior player from the moment he broke into the Juventus squad last season. And his most memorable moment came in the Derby Italia a year ago, when he came on after half-time against Inter Milan and completely changed the game by burying two brilliant second-half goals in a 4-4 draw.

He typically likes to play in a flexible position behind the striker – although he can also act as a 'false number 9' – and his favorite area to receive the ball is on the left, before he darts inside to shoot or pass.

In addition to his clever selection of spaces in and around the penalty area, Yildiz is equally adept with either foot, making him unpredictable as he can take on defenders on both sides with intensity.

In possession, he is difficult to keep off balance, brings a lot of variety and is creative – indeed, last season he recorded 2.1 chances per 90 minutes and 2.3 shots (0.9 on target) in Serie A. He is also quick to press opponents when not in possession and is very quick to react to poor touches from defenders when there are a lot of people around the ball.

His consistency in the final third still needs work and he is prone to pressure, although at times he is too eager for spectacular, individual performances.
