How do you usually deal with rejection?
Bad! [Laughs.] No, but you know, I've learned not to internalize it too much. I do think that dealing with rejection gets easier as you become more experienced. You understand that it's usually not personal – it's just business. It's just about the deal or the details of what you were offering. Take a moment to think about why you didn't get what you wanted, and then move on. You can't take it personally.
What parenting advice would you give to a new mother?
I would say set clear boundaries. I'm not saying be too strict, but I think kids need to know where to draw the line.
What work clothes are the most comfortable for you?
I prefer trousers and jackets rather than dresses or skirts. For traveling I have this supersoft Lululemon tracksuit in dark gray color. It's super comfortable, but has special details like pintucks on the front of the trousers that make it look put together and neat, so you don't have to get off the plane and arrive somewhere looking sloppy. It is so versatile that you can wear it anywhere.
What was the last book you read?
I just finished Unreasonable hospitality Willa Guidara, but I also read fiction, especially if I'm at the beach. I love Ken Follettbooks. I think I could read them all.
What's your biggest vice?
Dark chocolate. With nuts.
At what point did you feel like you were successful?
In fact, just recently when I was promoted to this job – about three years ago.
What's your favorite treat after a productive day?
A good glass of cabernet.
What is your favorite thank you gift?
If someone really likes wine, then I will often do this. But I will always try to make it very personal and appropriate to the occasion.
