Timothée Chalamet Got Spanked With a Real Ping Pong Paddle in ‘Marty Supreme’ │ Exclaim!

Shark Tank Kevin O'Leary debuted as an actor in Josh Safdie sports drama Marty Supreme – what happened one of the best films of the year – and one of his standout scenes involves him getting spanked Timothee Chalamet Marty Mauser with a ping pong racket.

I won't say too much about this scene at the risk of revealing spoilers, but essentially O'Leary's character Milton Rockwell shows Marty that realizing his dreams can come at a humiliating price, and proves his point by hitting Marty in the back with a ping pong paddle. Now O'Leary told the publication Diversity that Chalamet had the option to sit out the scene and use a body double, but the actor insisted that his real butt be shown in the film.

“When it came time to hit him, the stunt guy was there. There was an understudy”
O'Leary opened up. “[Chalamet] I wouldn't do this. He said he would do it himself. He didn't want any other idiot to be immortalized.”

O'Leary was originally supposed to use a fake paddle to soften the blow, but the prop immediately broke on the first hit, forcing him to use a real paddle. The Canadian businessman-turned-actor recalls filming the scene for hours, with Safdie requiring about 40 takes until 4am.

“Josh said, 'You're going to have to push yourself,'” O'Leary said. “I actually beat him.”

Thanks to Timmy for having him on the team! He recently denied rumors that he is secretly moonlighting as British rapper EsDeeKid, but at least now he can add “stunt ass” to his resume.
