Tim Walz Called Out Over Viral Video of MN Daycare Tied to Millions With No Kids and a Misspelled Sign – RedState

A viral video highlighting the Quality Learning Center in Minneapolis has renewed scrutiny of alleged fraud in Minnesota's child care programs under Gov. Tim Walz (D).

The clip, posted on social media by independent videographer Nick Shirley, shows the daycare center in question, which Fox News reports is licensed to care for 99 children and is seriously deprived of children.

“There’s no one here,” Shirley says in the video.

At one point, he and another man approach the building, prompting the woman to shout to the others, “Don't open up. This is ICE.”

“Go away. You are not welcome here. Shame on you,” says the woman.

Shirley notes that, according to his research, the center received a significant portion of taxpayer funds in fiscal year 2025, but could not even find the time to correctly spell the word “training” on its sign.

“You are in favor of $1.9 million being illegally/fraudulently transferred to this business that [is called] “Quality Training Center,” but I can’t write “training” right on the door?” he asks.

The woman in this video demonstrates a level of ignorance that is both shocking and expected. It's unclear if she's affiliated with the daycare center or if she's just a random leftist trying to protect scammers. These are the type of people who ignorantly vote for people who rip off taxpayers and then ignorantly pretend they didn't go ahead and plunder the public treasury.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-6) publicly criticized Walz, questioning the disbursement of taxpayer funds to the seemingly dormant center.

“$4 million in hard-earned tax dollars will go to an educational center that doesn't even know how to spell 'teach.' Care to explain that, Tim Walz?” asked Emmer.

The amount of $4 million is mentioned in the report as the total amount paid to the Center for Quality Learning. However, a report from St. Paul's Church ABC affiliate in January indicates that the day care center had, to that point, received “$7.8 million in federal taxes since 2019, despite regulatory problems.”

Those regulatory problems included 95 violations by the state social services agency over four years, ranging from “failure to keep dangerous items away from children” to “failure to keep records for 16 children.”

Why do child care centers in Minnesota struggle to explain where children are?

The wild video comes as the Somali community is embroiled in a fraud scandal that some observers say could be very costly. almost 9 billion dollars. Some businesses are accused of directing millions of those who fraudulently obtained funds for the terrorist group Al-Shabaab.

Shirley posted a longer, 43-minute video on YouTube in which he claims to have uncovered more than $110 million in fraud by visiting questionable day care centers and medical buildings in just one day.

Another video that went viral on X shows Shirley asking for quotes at a building with several medical companies, but is repeatedly turned down (except by one woman) and ends up getting the police called on him.

“We are being taken out right now. The police have arrived,” Shirley says in the video. “We checked the tariffs, looked at what was happening inside this building. Nobody really talked to us.”

Shirley, in a separate post on X, claims that the alleged fraud he is experiencing is only superficial.

“Tim Walz and the scammers won't escape this,” he said. “In one day, my team and I uncovered over $110 million in fraud. This is just the tip of the iceberg.”

“We the people simply work too hard and pay too much in taxes to allow this to happen; they must be held accountable.”

Walz faces scrutiny and growing calls for an investigation into his role in enabling the government to carry out multibillion-dollar welfare fraud schemes. But will should he be held accountable? Will anyone Will those involved in this scandal be held accountable? Time will show.
